Quarterly Summary

St. Vincent De Paul

Church of the Ascension St Vincent de Paul
Quarterly Summary 06/30/2025

The Ascension parishioners’ generous support of our neighbors during this last quarter continues to demonstrate the strong tradition of a caring and sharing Parish.

During this past quarter, the Ascension Conference members responded to 146 calls for assistance, logging 184 service hours and 493 miles. Our conference provided assistance to 49 households. The Conference provided 14 rental payments and made utility payments for 32 households. The Conference also provided furniture vouchers, gas cards, and appliance assistance to our neighbors.

Among the many calls for assistance, I would like to bring to your attention a call we received from our neighbor Marsha. Marsha is elderly, retired and collects disability and a small amount from her former spouse. Over time, her social security was miscalculated and Marsha was placed in an overpayment situation. Already living on a very small income, when her overpayment was deducted it left Marsha without enough funds to pay her rent. Working with the landlord, our Conference was able to assist with a payment that allowed Marsha to remain in her apartment. Marsha very grateful for your support and assistance.

On another household, we received a call from Laura a single mother, who while recovering from a stroke has gone back to work trying to support herself and her teenage daughter. As a result of her medical issues, she fell behind on her bills and was facing a disconnect for both water and gas services. One of our conference members was able to guide Laura through the process to set up payment plans. Assistance was made for both the gas and water bills. The family was very grateful for the support the Ascension Conference provided.

Ascension Conference is seeking additional volunteers. If you would like to learn more about our organization, please leave a message on our Help Line at 937-253-5171 x106 or at svdp@ascensionkettering.org and one of our members will respond.

The continued generosity of the Ascension parish enables the Conference to assist our neighbors in need. Your support continues the strong Ascension tradition of caring and serving others. Your contributions are making a difference in supporting our neighbors. The Ascension Conference is very grateful for your support.

May God bless you and your family.
