Baptism
Infant and Young Child Baptism
Parents are asked to attend a Baptism Preparation Class prior to their child’s baptism. To begin the process, please contact Kristi Gaston for St. Albert (kgaston@mgparish.org) and Joe Ollier for Ascension and St. Charles (jollier@mgparish.org). If you have already taken the Baptism class within the last 4 years, you can fill out this Baptismal Registration Form and email it to Kristi or Joe at the above email addresses to schedule your baptism. Baptisms for babies and young children are celebrated during weekend Masses or after the last Mass on Sundays. Schedules vary by parish, so please contact Kristi Gaston or Joe Ollier for more information.
Baptism for School-Age Children
Children who have reached the age of 7 are invited to take part in a special Christian Initiation program, designed to prepare them for Baptism and full participation in the Church. Parents play an important role and are actively involved throughout the process. For more information, contact Kristi Gaston for St. Albert (kgaston@mgparish.org) and Joe Ollier for Ascension and St. Charles (jollier@mgparish.org)
Adult Baptism (OCIA)
Adult baptisms typically take place during the Easter Vigil Mass and are celebrated alongside the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. Adults preparing for baptism—or baptized adults seeking full communion with the Catholic Church—participate in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). To learn more or begin the OCIA process, please contact Chris Kreger at ckreger@mgparish.org.
