Children’s Liturgy of the Word

  • Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the Mother of God Family of Parishes (which includes Ascension, St. Charles, and St. Albert the Great in Kettering, Ohio) is a special time during Mass when young children (typically ages 4–2nd grade) are invited to hear the Sunday readings and a short reflection in words they can understand.

NO NEED to sign up– simply show up!

    • Ascension: Sundays during the 9:00 AM Mass

    • St. Albert the Great: Sundays during the 11:00 AM Mass

    • St. Charles: Sundays during the 10:00 AM Mass

    • Children gather at the front after the opening prayers.

    • A catechist leads them to a separate space.

    • They listen to simplified readings, sing, pray, and discuss the Gospel.

    • They return to the main church before the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
